Brenda Marcum

Onsite Human Resources Representative

Coursework in Individual and Family Development, Oregon State University

Brenda joined us in September 2018 as the Onsite HR Representative for a Xenium clients. She enjoys working onsite to provide HR support for the client’s workforce, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, performance management, terminations and benefits. It was the job posting for this company’s position that attracted her to Xenium.

Brenda’s prior experience includes 23 years in education and working at a non-profit. Her career began at Oregon State University in 1987 where she stayed until 2013, working the first nine years for the EOP program which assisted the non-traditional student in accessing and succeeding in higher education. She worked her last 14 years at OSU in Human Resources for various departments (Mechanical Engineering, Botany & Plant Pathology, and Information Services). While working at OSU, Brenda completed some core classwork in Individual and Family Development.

She then accepted an HR position with Portland Public Schools, making a move to the Portland area, where she worked as a Senior Talent Management Specialist for 2 ½ years with the Grant Cluster and other programs. Most recently, she worked for one year as a Recruiter at the non-profit DePaul Industries, which assists individuals with employment barriers. This was a particularly rewarding experience for Brenda.

She is a native Oregonian, born and raised in Corvallis. She had short stays on Maui and in Seattle, but always found her way back to the Pacific Northwest. She loves to cook and read, and has two wonderful grandchildren with whom she spends most of her free time.
