Daniel McClintock

Onsite Human Resource Manager

B.A. in Psychology & Sociology with a Business Minor, University of Oregon

Daniel jumped right into work as a Part-Time HR Generalist at a Xenium client’s site in December of 2018, and was immediately told that his responsibilities would increase. Along with new responsibilities came a title change to HR Manager. The client for whom he works is based in Portland but has 38 retail store locations in 21 states nationwide. Daniel is the sole HR employee at this company’s headquarters, where he oversees the day-to-day general HR duties of assisting the corporate office and retail branches with HR related issues. He is also responsible for payroll, where he is leading the charge to implement a new HRIS system.

Prior to joining the Xenium team, Daniel started as an HR Generalist/Payroll Administrator for the Hilton Anchorage Hotel. During his time there, he was promoted to HR Supervisor, where he was an important part of the management team. He was the single HR payroll point of contact for a 600 room, 160-200 employee hotel – the largest one in the state of Alaska that operates year-round.

Daniel was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, but lived in Eugene, Oregon for about five years during college and beyond. He is a self-described HR nerd and the idea of working for a Xenium – a company composed of other HR professionals – was very appealing to him.

When Daniel is not practicing HR, he enjoys many outdoor activities, including hiking and camping (this goes back to his Alaska roots). In 2015, he walked the Camino De Santiago hike from the Pyrenees on the French/Spanish border all the way to the city of Santiago near the west coast of Spain – a total of 600 miles in five weeks!  He also enjoys reading across a wide range of subjects; most recently, he has been reading finance-related books (i.e. Flash Boys and Liars Poker, both by Michael Lewis). He recently watched and thoroughly enjoyed the Stranger Things series on Netflix and is hooked!
