Karen Erne joined Xenium in August 2016 as the Director of Payroll, Benefits and HRIS and now holds the title Vice President of Payroll, Benefits & HRIS. Within her role, Karen supports the success of the payroll, benefits and HRIS teams. She has a passion for finding efficiency through technology and helping Xenium’s clients. Karen recommends the strategy and direction of payroll, benefits and HRIS initiatives and daily operations and is excited to drive innovations that enhance current process improvement efforts for Xenium.

Karen began her career as an HR practitioner 25 years ago utilizing outside HR consulting experience as needed. Most recently, she managed benefits, retirement plans, compensation and HRIS for an international manufacturing company. This experience gave Karen a wealth of knowledge in operational efficiency through the use of technology and Kaizen principles. She has also spent time on the Fidelity Client Advisory Board supporting topics such as women in the workforce, promoting financial wellness and how technology can be used to drive engagement. Prior to working in the manufacturing sector, she spent 13 years in HR for an engineering consulting firm and 5 years in a clinical lab with the HR team.

Outside of work, Karen enjoys spending time with her husband and their labradoodle. Karen loves to read; as a child, her parents frequently took Karen and her sister to Yachats, OR and the coastal weather usually meant waiting out storms reading by the fire. She also plays golf at Willamette Valley Country Club. If not doing any of the above, Karen enjoys riding her Harley Davidson.
