Kim O'Donnell, SPHR

Kim O'Donnell joined the Xenium team in March 2007 as a Human Resource Business Partner and is now serving in a Senior Human Resource Business Partner role. She has more than 20 years of client relationship management experience which includes providing 11 years of Human Resources Consulting to business owners.  She also served as a Partner Business Manger for a financial planning firm. Kim earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Management from San Diego State University and her MBA from the University of Phoenix.

In her current role of Senior Human Resource Business Partner, Kim supports her clients and the internal Xenium HR team. Kim’s client base includes clients in a variety of industries; ranging from heavy manufacturing to professional service firms and non-profit organizations. Kim prides herself on her ability to connect with people at all levels of an organization; building trust and long-lasting relationships. She works hard to find the appropriate balance between the needs of the organization and the needs of her clients’ employees.

Kim enjoys working with her client contacts to identify and implement strategic initiatives that range from big picture (supervisor development, process improvement, compliance, training, change management and rebuilding organizational culture) to the equally important smaller building blocks of organization growth (employee relations management, policy development and communication, risk management, and evaluating and building employee retention strategies).

Kim is active with the local Human Resources professional association, PHRMA (Portland Human Resource Management Association) and a member of the national Society for Human Resource Management organization.  She served as past President of Portlandia, a non-profit organization of professional women, which gives back to the community by mentoring women who are trying to break out of the cycle of poverty to self-sufficiency.  In addition to her leadership role, she also served as a mentor in Portlandia’s mentorship program. She also contributed her time as Chairwoman of the Westside Young Professionals Group, a program of the Beaverton Chamber of Commerce.

Kim’s interests outside of work include golfing, wine tasting and enjoying the wide variety of great eats and activities that Portland has to offer. She and husband Patrick enjoy the great outdoors: camping and traveling. Kim is a proud aunt of thirteen nieces and nephews.
