The SHRM has released a report on employee benefits trends in recent years. Some details were predictable (i.e. “financial and compensation benefits have experienced considerable declines in the last five years”) but others exhibit a positive direction.
For example, “certification/re-certification fees, mentoring programs, professional license application or renewal fees, and professional memberships” are developing an upward trend.
Preventative healthcare and wellness programs also have been rising, such as “health care premium discount[s] for not using tobacco products” and “rewards or bonuses for completing certain health and wellness programs.” A recognizable 78% of organizations also offer an employee assistance program (EAP) with regard to mental and emotional health.
