As reported by Barran Liebman, Oregon’s Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) announced that the minimum wage will rise from $8.95 to $9.10 per hour starting January 1, 2014, affecting roughly 100,000 Oregon workers.
Employers should note:

  • If an employee currently earns below $9.10 per hour and the worker has a pay period beginning on or before December 31, 2013, and ending on or after January 1, 2014, the worker must be paid the hourly minimum wage for all hours worked in 2014.
  • Even if an employer has no employees who earn below $9.10 per hour, all Oregon employers must post an accurate minimum wage poster, and must display an updated poster as of January 1, 2014.
