
As the social media trend continues to rise, an increasing number or organizations are using social networks throughout the entire hiring process–from posting job openings to recruiting and training employees. Employers have come to realize that it has become an essential outlet for finding candidates who will be the next generation of leaders in the organization, and candidates with talent and sought after skills know that social media is becoming an effective way to gain visibility with prospective employers.

According to an article at Forbes.com, Facebook is gearing up for the release of “Facebook Jobs” later this summer. It will feature aggregated job postings from third party websites. In theory, “Facebook Jobs” will make all postings available in one search-friendly database to its users.
On June 12, 2012, Xenium’s partner, PayScale, posted an infographic about policies regarding social media use in the workplace. Tripp Ritter of PayScale writes that some industries are more prone to embrace social media than others, many businesses have implemented policies regarding social media, and still many others are working to prevent employee access entirely.
